Why there is no meter

You bring your own OpenRouter key, so the model spend is yours and Paraph is never party to it. That is the whole reason there is nothing to meter: we could not charge you per session if we wanted to, because we are not in the transaction. A session costs you about 16p, paid to OpenRouter, at their price.

The subscription pays for the app — the scribe prompts, the illustrator, the reading surface, the hosting. It does not pay for inference, and it does not take a cut of it.

What happens if you stop paying

Nothing disappears. Everything already written stays readable at its link and stays exportable. You lose the comic and the other retellings, not the record.

There are no credits to buy and none to expire, so a gap costs nothing. A year with no trips in it was never burning anything while it waited.
